About the Facility Albuquerque VAMC CBOC Gallup Facility The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS) serves Veterans in New Mexico, Southern Colorado and West Texas. It is a leader in the provision of rural health care, opening its first VA-staffed community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) in Farmington, New Mexico, followed by clinics in Artesia, Gallup, Raton, Silver City, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe. NP/PA - RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm.
• Mileage paid is $0.62/mile.
• Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. The remaining shall be administrative time as needed.
• Shall be responsible for providing internal medicine and general practice medical services to the patient.
• The Scope of Privileges in Internal Medicine includes the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and provision of consultation to patients with common and complex illnesses, diseases, and functional disorders.
• Clinic Responsibilities: Shall be present and on time, scheduled clinic start times as documented by the physical presence in the clinic.
• Option for remote and or telework will not be considered due to the rurality of the area and poor internet infrastructure.
• Care shall demonstrate evidence of education, training, and experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice and cover the range of general medicine services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards.

NP/PA - REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant NP license must be from full-practice authority state)
• Must have BLS certification.
• Must be capable of traveling to patient's homes in the counties of McKinley and Cibola and/or within a 60-mile radius of the Gallup CBOC facility in a timely manner.
