Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 1.5 years in Med Surg or PCU License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong post-surgical competencies required - Telemetry remote monitoring experience - Colostomy care experience - Feeding tube care and management experience - Pre/Post hemodialysis management experience - Accessing ports, blood product administration, and peripheral line care experience - Starting IVs, managing PICC lines, and handling heparin and insulin - Experience with surgical drains, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula - Knowledge in non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration - Tracheostomy management skills - Wound care skills Description: Holiday coverage is required; however, any time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. First-time travelers are welcome. No call requirement. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Holidays are required. Travelers may float to other medical-surgical units, ICU, and ED as needed. Expected patient ratios are 1:6 but may flex higher during rare occasions. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics, primarily comprising general surgical populations. Special procedures and equipment details will be provided during orientation. All lab work must be scheduled within 48-72 hours of contract signing. Proof of flu vaccination is required for submission; medical exemptions will be considered. References are required for submission.
