Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nursing position in Colorado. The role involves providing specialized care in the Labor and Delivery unit, focusing on pregnant women, newborns, and gynecologic surgical patients. Candidates will work night shifts and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience following AWHONN guidelines for ratios and the ability to triage and function as a baby catcher/transition nurse.
• Float: Helping hands to medical-surgical units may be required occasionally.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit primarily handles pregnancies, newborns, and gynecologic surgery patients, with an average of about 200 deliveries per year.
  • The team includes in-house obstetricians and neonatologists available 24/7, with anesthesiology on-site during regular hours and on-call after hours.
  • Equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and bubble CPAP is available, though staffing may vary.
  • Telemetry monitors are used, with RNs expected to read their own strips using OBIX system.
  • Self-scheduling is permitted with some flexibility; weekend work involves half of all weekends.
  • Holiday shifts are required during the winter season.
