Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a transitional learning classroom. This full-time position, available ASAP through late May 2027, focuses on students who benefit from a self-contained environment due to behavioral, emotional, and learning challenges. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will make a meaningful difference, creating a positive and growth-oriented classroom atmosphere.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Texas Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience in self-contained or transitional learning environments strongly preferred
- Solid foundation in developing and implementing IEPs
- Skilled in managing behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
- Collaborative approach with other educators, therapists, and families
- Adaptable, patient, and responsive to individualized student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to elementary students in a self-contained setting
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to address each learner’s unique challenges
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and monitor progress
- Foster a safe, supportive classroom culture that encourages positive academic and behavioral outcomes
- Collaborate on transition planning, goal setting, and student support strategies
- Communicate regularly with families and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
