Janitor

Reports to: Practice owner, Practice manager

West Coast Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital located in the middle of San Diego, open daily. We have 2 hospital locations, and the shifts would be shared between both. We have Janitor shifts available on Sunday thru Wednesday from 7:30 AM – 6:15PM. As a medical facility, our staff works an alternate schedule of four 10-hour days/week versus five 8-hour days/week.

Wage Range:

$18.00-$19.50

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic a plus but not required.
• Previous in a custodial/janitorial position required

Personal Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years old.
• Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying of up to 40lbs. Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
• Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces and urine. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
• Dependable, arrives on time and ready to work at the start of their scheduled shift
• Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.

Duties:

• Clean patient exam rooms as needed
• Clean kennels and dog runs as needed
• Laundry
• Empty trash
• Clean bathrooms and restock items as needed
• Sweep and mop floors
• Dusting
• Vacuum floors
• Sanitize high touch surfaces
• Clean break room
• Clean floor gutters
• Clean sinks
• Clean wet tables
• Special infrequent cleaning projects such as baseboards, cabinets, air vents, light fixtures
