LEAD THERAPIST (LICENSED)

LEAD THERAPIST - FULL TIME The Lead Therapist performs all duties of a therapist with additional leadership responsibilities. The Lead holds a full caseload, typically from the core unit, and works with patients providing individual, family, and group therapy. The Lead communicates with collateral contacts, schools and outpatient providers, and engages in case management responsibilities. In addition to the full‑time role, the Lead therapist provides leadership on the unit, collaborates with clinical leadership on projects and unit enhancement, collaborates with the nurse manager and staff on milieu management, and serves as the main liaison between nursing and clinical. The Lead also attends additional leadership meetings, meets with the clinical lead weekly to discuss special projects, and attends 2–3 shift changes per week to increase communication, collaboration and reinforce initiatives with direct care staff. Responsibilities Perform all functional duties of a therapist in line with the therapist role, maintain a full caseload, provide individual, family and group therapy, communicate with collateral contacts, schools, outpatient providers, engage in case management, collaborate on unit enhancement projects, liaise between nursing and clinical staff, attend leadership meetings, and participate in shift changes to support staff. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills, with majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population. Licensure/Certification: LCPC or LCSW required. Primary source verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills. Trained in psychotherapy techniques, evidence-based models including CBT, DBT (preferred). Time management and experience completing therapeutic documentation and case management.
