Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Services

Schedule

This position is scheduled for 5 days a week, with multiple shift options available:

• 0630-1500 (Monday - Friday) - 2 positions
• 1100-1930 (Monday - Friday) - 1 position
• 1400-2230 (Monday - Friday) - 1 position

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in a surgical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing routine and complex nursing care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. The RN will continue to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifying issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact.
