The Carpenter Foreman oversees day-to-day construction activities on residential job sites, ensuring work is completed to a high standard of craftsmanship and in compliance with plans, specifications, and local building codes. This role coordinates and leads crew members, subcontractors, and suppliers, manages project timelines, and maintains a safe, organized, and efficient work environment on new-build single-family home projects.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily construction activities on residential job sites, ensuring all work aligns with plans, specifications, and local building codes.
- Coordinate and manage crew members, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep the project moving efficiently.
- Work closely with project managers, owners, and inspectors to support smooth project execution and communication.
- Schedule and sequence work to maintain project timelines and avoid delays.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide construction activities.
- Inspect work regularly to ensure high standards of craftsmanship and quality.
- Identify and resolve issues or deficiencies promptly to keep projects on track.
- Maintain punch lists and ensure all items are completed in a timely manner.
- Enforce job site safety standards and OSHA regulations to protect all personnel.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment on the job site.
- Coordinate material deliveries with the project manager to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Manage tools and equipment, ensuring proper use, care, and maintenance.
- Train, mentor, and lead crew members to build skills and support professional growth.
- Assign tasks to crew members and monitor productivity to meet project goals.
- Maintain positive morale and accountability on-site, fostering a respectful and collaborative team environment.
- Use basic computer skills to outline project needs and support documentation and communication.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, project managers, and occasionally clients to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in residential construction.
- Solid understanding of the residential construction process from framing through finish work.
- Proficiency in framing, concrete work, and finish carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
- Ability to enforce and adhere to OSHA safety regulations and job site safety standards.
- Capability to supervise and lead crews on new-build single-family home sites.
- Basic computer skills to outline project needs and support project documentation.
- Experience managing material deliveries, tools, and equipment on construction sites.
- Experience conducting safety meetings and inspections on active job sites.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop crew members.
- Proven track record of maintaining punch lists and driving projects to completion.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, efficient, and hazard-free work site.

Work EnvironmentWork is performed on new-build single-family home construction sites, primarily outdoors and in partially enclosed structures. The environment involves typical residential construction activities, including framing, concrete work, and finish carpentry, with regular use of hand and power tools, construction equipment, and materials. The role requires consistent adherence to OSHA regulations and job site safety standards, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace. Hours follow standard construction schedules, with on-site coordination among crew members, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
