Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Hicksville production facility. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in food and beverage quality control, laboratory testing, and GMP compliance, and a proven ability to verify product and process conformity to food safety standards and support continuous operations across multiple lines.

Schedule and Work Environment:

• MON - FRI, 7PM to 3AM. Shift schedules could include weekends. Hours subject to business needs.
• Steel toe shoes required.
• Typical production environment with periods of hot and cold temperatures and standard noise.

Responsibilities:

• Enforce GMP, food safety, and security requirements across assigned areas. Verify compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
• Milk Receiving: Complete paperwork, perform sampling, temperature checks, butter fat testing, acidity testing, pH testing, and organoleptic evaluation.
• Ingredient/Kettle Check and Release: Complete paperwork, conduct temperature checks, salt testing, Brix testing, pH testing, viscosity testing, RS View kettle release, and organoleptic evaluation.
• Filler Operations: Complete paperwork, perform temperature checks, metal detector verification, X-ray verification, seal testing, code checks, weight checks, and retain sample collection.
• Packing Operations: Complete paperwork, perform temperature checks, code checks, labeling checks, packaging evaluation, and organoleptic evaluation.
• Microbiology and Lab Testing: Collect samples of water and environmental listeria. Conduct plating and incubation for milk, eggs, shelf life, and other environmental samples.
• Pre-Operation Checks: Complete paperwork, perform ATP and allergen swabbing, magnet checks, cooler checks, and sanitizer concentration verification.
• Make hold/release decisions and determine if in-process product is within specification for pumping.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in food manufacturing QA, including GMP, HACCP, and food safety verification.
• Proficiency with lab tests such as pH, viscosity, Brix, butter fat, salt, organoleptic evaluation, and micro plating/incubation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, leads, supervisors, and production management. Detail oriented and team oriented.
• Ability to comprehend science-based material and high school level math, including algebra.
• Willingness to work extended shifts as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with dairy or beverage processing and kettle-enabled systems.
• Familiarity with metal detection, X-ray verification, and allergen control programs.

Physical Demands and Conditions:

• Standing for the majority of the shift. Routine exposure to production noise.
• Occasional climbing up to 8 feet.
• Work in hot and cold environments throughout the shift.
