Recovery Room Registered NurseLocation - Raleigh Endoscopy Center - Cary Location 1505 SW Cary Parkway, Suite 202, Cary, NC 27511Main function - Performs nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/postanesthesia period, assessing and documenting patient's status upon arrival in the recovery room. Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring patient and informing surgeon or anesthetist of observed complications.Duties and responsibilities - Philosophy, Communication, Financial practices, Compliance program, Performance-improvement program, Safety/Risk-management program, Professional competence, DutiesQualifications - Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians. Ability to make decisions and solve problems.Requirements - Required: High school graduate or GED certificate recipient, Graduate of accredited school of nursing, RN with active license in appropriate state, CPR certification, Evidence of leadership qualities, Strong ethical and moral character references, Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal and telephone communication in American English. Preferred: ACLS certification, ASC experience, Computer literacy.Job quality requirements - Accuracy, Attention to detail, Timeliness, Organization, Little supervision needed to accomplish tasks.Dependability - Attendance, Punctuality, Ability to follow instructions, Ability to meet deadlines.Physical/mental requirements - Ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to walk. Capability for occasional overhead and low reaching. Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds and position equipment and patients. Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities. Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs. Ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems. Ability to make occasional judgments and respond to disasters or emergencies, actual events, or drills.Working conditions (environmental) - Well lit and ventilated, with non-hazardous and hazardous equipment.
