PCU Travel Nurse Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; a valid compact or Ohio RN license must be in hand at the time of submission At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, progressive care, intermediate care, or comparable acute-care nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program Demonstrated competency with telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience with isolation precautions, oxygen administration, nasal cannula care, and peripheral line management Ability to respond appropriately to rapid response and code situations Two professional references required, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader Flexibility to float, provide call coverage, and work required weekend shifts Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed-acuity PCU, progressive care, and stepdown setting Monitor patients closely, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly Interpret and manage dysrhythmias while delivering appropriate telemetry-focused nursing care Administer medications and oxygen therapy and provide peripheral IV and line care Use appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment Respond to rapid response and code team situations according to established protocols Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, social services, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners Educate patients and families and support safe transitions of care Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and ongoing care plans Float to other units as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care Apply now for this PCU Registered Nurse travel contract in Columbus, Ohio, and take the next step in your acute-care nursing career.
