Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma. Manage donor adverse events; review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Perform informed consent procedures, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion. Conduct medical history interviews, admit requirements, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs with unacceptable findings or for guidance on medical or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support employee Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or emergency response. Follow EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate level of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Satisfactorily complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two or more years in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits Location: USA – TX – Beaumont. Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications and experience).
