Patient Care Overview\n The successful candidate will work in a team nursing environment and handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8. Common patient types include: \n \n Dementia \n Dependent older adults \n Diabetes \n Rehab and restorative care post-acute illness \n IV medication and fluid/blood administration \n COVID-19 cases \n Wound care \n Initial care of trauma patients in the Emergency Room \n Exacerbation of chronic illnesses \n Essential Skills\n \n Understanding of dementia and stroke care \n Expertise in skin care for geriatric patient populations \n Ability to titrate IV drips, including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions \n Shift Information\n \n 12-hour shifts: 0645-1915 and 1845-0715 \n Self-scheduling available with block scheduling upon request \n Weekend requirement: Every other \n Holiday requirement: Alternating, typically every other holiday \n Orientation and Training\n New hires will undergo three shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth integration into the team. Additional Information\n No participation in on-call or standby. Floating will be required between the ER and MedSurg units.
