Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry (IMC Cardiovascular) position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting — this is not a stepdown unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care using the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• BSN is preferred but not required
• US Social Security Number is required for consideration
