Senior Buyer - Mountain Hardwear, Columbia Equipment

This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The North America Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team focuses on our outlet, brand, and employee stores within the US and Canada. From merchandising to retail marketing to retail operations,there is a highly collaborative team working "behind the scenes" to ensure our consumers have a positive experience in our stores.

Columbia Sportswear is looking for a SeniorBuyerto drive sustainable growth for Mountain Hardwear & Equipment. They will build and manage strategic assortments to achievefinancial keyperformance indicator goals, as well as be responsible for all facets of buying, including the financial investments of each item, assortments by store, in-season price and inventory management, and the execution of product for their department(s). This person will partner cross-functionally andinfluencethe development ofoptimalassortments, top line financial plans, visual merchandising strategies, in store product execution and marketing.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Develops product assortments including style selection and product flow ensuringsynergywith financial plans. Develops and presents assortments supporting overall strategy of in-stock positioning for key merchandise categories, balanced presentations, andaccurateandtimelyreceipt flow.

• Implements and completes in-season business management including open-to-buy management, inventory management, and price strategies to increase sales and improve gross margin.

• Drives cross-functional discussions with other teamsregardingproduct needs and store execution.

• Workswithvisual merchandising and marketingteams to build and executestrategies to meet and exceed sales and margin goals.

• Partners with Allocation team on product execution ensuringtimelydelivery and replenishment of all products throughout the season to maximize sales.

• Partners with Planning team on future forecasts of sales trends, merchandise availability, and other changes in the business.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

YOU ARE

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Illustrator experience preferred.

• Able to solve complex problems and develop creative solutions.

• Knowledge ofprinciples, concepts, and theories within discipline and can apply broader knowledge of industry standards to assignments and others.

YOUHAVE

• Bachelor's degree, applicablecertification,or equivalent experience.

• 5-8 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or proceduresrequiredtoaccomplishthe job.

• Advanced understanding ofretailindustry and specific metrics used.

• Strong communicationskills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent presentation skills.
