Job Summary:

Deltona Adventist School (DAS) is seeking a qualified and dedicated part-time teacher to serve in a multi-grade 1st-2nd grade classroom. This position is approximately 25 hours per week. The selected candidate must hold educational certification or be eligible for certification. A teacher aide is assigned to the classroom to assist with student support and daily classroom activities.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• Educational certification or eligibility for certification.
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Commitment to academic excellence and Christian education.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to provide a positive and effective learning environment.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
• Provide instruction to students in a multi-grade 1st-2nd grade classroom.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive student behavior.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
• Meet with parents during scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences and communicate regularly regarding student progress.
• Work collaboratively with DAS teachers, administration, and staff to support school-wide goals and student success.
• Utilize the support of the classroom aide to enhance instruction and meet the needs of all learners.
• Support the mission, values, and Christian philosophy of Deltona Adventist School.
