Medical Assistant, Full-Time - Plymouth/Woodbury, MN Midwest Immunology & Minnesota Center for Multiple Sclerosis, a Vivo Infusion Company is excited to invite a motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Plymouth & Woodbury, MN! We are looking for a Medical Assistant with prior administrative experience, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently. The Medical Assistant will float between both clinics and mileage will be reimbursed for travel between clinics. The individual in this role will support our operations by working with patients providers, nurses, and patients by conducting administrative and patient care activities to keep the facility running smoothly. The Medical Assistant is responsible for initial patient greeting and general assisting of medical support in the center. Please note this position will not support our Infusion Suite. Non-Exempt Reports to: Clinical Operations Manager Location: 15655 37th Ave N, STE 260 Plymouth, MN 55446 Primary responsibilities: Performs a variety of patient care activities rendering quality patients in accordance with standards of practice. Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient chart with the required information Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient care Oversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam rooms Assist provider in the exam room as requested Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens as directed. Administer injections and vaccines Obtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatment's and document Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriately Orders and manages supplies under the direction of manager Clean and stock the exam rooms, with the approved facility disinfectant. Assist in obtaining records required for the patient’s chart Support front desk staff as needed Demonstrate effective communication skills, reporting patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day. Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control. Secondary responsibilities: Immediately report any unsafe condition to the Clinic Manager Assist with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials. Perform all duties in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines and high work volume. Participate in emergency evacuation procedures in the event of fire or disaster Maintain confidentiality of all company and patient records. Adhere to HIPPA. Comply with all Company established policies and procedures at all times. Participate in all required meetings including staff, CQI, and educational meetings. Request assistance or advice from supervisor as needed. Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications: Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent, required. Medical Assistant Certification, required. CPR/BLS, required prior to start date. 6 months clinical experience, required. Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred. Skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed. Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians. Must possess computer skills for electronic recordkeeping. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
