Senior Mental Health Technician

The Pavilion Behavioral Health System includes a 110 bed inpatient hospital, a residential treatment center for youth and a residential addictions treatment program. Outpatient services include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services, as well as The Pavilion Foundation School, a private day school serving students with learning disabilities and behavior disorders. The Pavilion is located in Champaign, IL, within minutes of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.

The Sr. Mental Health Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations, organization, quality, and consistency of the therapeutic programming across assigned units. The Senior MHT works collaboratively with clinical, nursing, mental health technician, and recreational therapy staff to ensure scheduled programming is implemented as planned, patients have meaningful opportunities for participation, required documentation is completed, and program barriers are identified and communicated to leadership.

As a Sr. Mental Health Technician, you will:

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
