Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant serves as a key contributor within our accounting team — building on the foundational work of our Staff Accountant while taking on greater ownership of the general ledger, month‑end close, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who has gained speed and autonomy on day‑to‑day transactions and begin taking on broader analytical and cross‑functional responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities Own and manage accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely execution. Perform complex account reconciliations and bank reconciliations, independently investigating and resolving discrepancies. Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts; identify trends and flag issues proactively. Prepare, review, and post journal entries with a higher degree of autonomy and accuracy. Lead or significantly contribute to month‑end and year‑end close processes, including financial statement preparation. Support audit and tax preparation activities, serving as a reliable point of contact for documentation and inquiries. Respond to and resolve vendor and customer inquiries; elevate complex issues appropriately. Drive process improvement initiatives — identify inefficiencies and propose and implement solutions. Assist with ERP optimization projects and contribute to system enhancements. Support ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requests from leadership. Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and internal controls documentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle. NetSuite experience a plus. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail — you catch the things others miss. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve processes in a complex and growing environment. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 2‑6 years of experience in an accounting role, with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility. Experience working in a hyper‑growth, manufacturing, or e‑commerce environment preferred. Familiarity with Power BI and other data visualization tools.
