The Coordinator of Library and Learning Resources reports to the Vice President of Instruction and Student Development and provides collegewide leadership for library services and learning resources that support student learning, academic success, faculty teaching, and institutional effectiveness. The coordinator directs and evaluates library operations and contributes to the continued development of the library as an integrated Learning Resource Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans, coordinates, promotes, and evaluates library and learning resource services in alignment with the College's mission, priorities, academic programs, and student needs. Oversees the selection, acquisition, evaluation, maintenance, and deselection of print, electronic, and multimedia resources in collaboration with faculty. Oversees circulation, interlibrary loan, acquisitions, serials, and cataloging; manages archives and special collections; and provides local history and genealogical research assistance. Develops and administers the library budget, including expenditures, subscriptions, and resource allocations. Develops and delivers information literacy and research instruction in classroom, embedded, workshop, individual, and online formats. Provides reference and research assistance and collaborates with faculty to integrate library resources, research skills, and information literacy into courses and programs. Oversees library systems and digital services, including the integrated library system, electronic resources, online research guides, instructional materials, and library web content, in coordination with information technology staff, VCCS, VIVA, and vendors. Ensures accessible and responsive resources, services, facilities, and digital content for students at all instructional locations and in online learning environments. Supervises, trains, schedules, supports, and evaluates assigned LRC employees and oversees federal work-study students. Collects and reports library and learning resource data to support planning, improvement, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and required reporting. Develops procedures and supports compliance with applicable standards related to accessibility, copyright, privacy, and the ethical use of information. Represents the College through VCCS, VIVA, professional, and institutional service. Leads the continued development of an integrated Learning Resource Center supporting students, faculty, and multiple modes of instruction. Performs other duties as assigned. KSA's/Required Qualifications Master's degree in library science or library and information science from an American Library Association-accredited institution. At least three years of full-time or equivalent part-time, progressively responsible professional library experience. Experience with reference and research services, information literacy instruction, collection development, electronic resources, and integrated library systems. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and improve library programs and services. Experience supervising employees including training, scheduling, work assignment, and performance support. Experience managing budgets, subscriptions, contracts, or resource allocations. Strong organizational, communication, instructional, customer-service, and technology skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners. Experience managing archives, special collections, or related historical materials. Provide accessible and responsive services to a diverse student population. Provide evening or weekend coverage as needed. Additional Considerations: Professional experience in an academic or community college library. Experience providing local history or genealogical research assistance. Experience with assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, or strategic planning. Experience developing or coordinating an integrated library, Learning Resource Center, or academic support center.
