Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.Project Overview:Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Brownsville, Texas is a city known for its diverse history, tradition, and rich culture. Brownsville embraces innovation, looks forward to the future and beyond!Job Summary:In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1Major Responsibilities:Work Planning & PackagingPrepares construction drawings and sketches.Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures. Material Management Initiates requisitions for field purchasesPrepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.QuantitiesVerifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. Safety / Quality ControlEnsures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Technical Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activitiesSystem Turnover Coordinator For Direct Hire Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.STR / Subcontract CoordinatorReviews and approves inspection test plansCoordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals Education and Experience Requirements:Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience​Required Knowledge and Skills:Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area.Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies.Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program.Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.Additional Information:Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not limited to nightshift, or split shiftWork requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to:extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.Some lifting may be required.Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).Total Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
