This full-time position offers an annual salary range of $100,000 to $120,000. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments by utilizing evidence-based practices to identify clients' unique needs. You will develop personalized treatment plans that serve as a roadmap for clients' mental health journeys.
  • Implement various therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), tailored to individual client situations. Use your empathetic approach to guide clients toward resilience and healing.
  • Ensure precision in maintaining clinical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations, thereby fostering trust and compliance in our therapeutic processes.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary treatment team, sharing insights with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and other specialists to provide integrated care that addresses the whole person.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and peer review meetings to promote a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health, encouraging them to engage actively with their treatment processes while also addressing concerns or questions they may have.
  • Stay informed of the latest research and best practices in mental health, applying new insights to enhance your therapeutic techniques and interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Health Disorder Mental and Counseling Center serves a diverse clientele, including individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds and age groups dealing with complex mental health conditions. Your ability to provide personalized, culturally sensitive care will directly impact client outcomes, making a lasting difference in their lives.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • An active license in New York State as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or an equivalent credential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in solution-focused therapy techniques and the application of various therapeutic modalities.
  • Excellent communication skills that enable you to build rapport and trust with clients and facilitate effective collaborations with team members.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills that ensure thoughtful consideration of client needs, challenges, and progress.

Preferred Experience

While a strong foundation in mental health counseling is essential, preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in outpatient settings, particularly those familiar with teletherapy and remote client engagement strategies.
