Practice Manager. Job in Providence LilyLifestyle Jobs

Summary Responsible for the day‑to‑day operational effectiveness, service excellence, and financial success of a specific service within LPG. Reports to the Director of administrative services and partners with physician leadership to ensure patient care and business activities are provided to the highest professional standards. The Practice Manager manages the administrative, financial and operational aspects of the practice, works closely with clinicians to provide necessary support, and supervises non‑clinical staff. Responsibilities Work closely with physician leadership to foster clinical excellence, superb customer service, provider and team efficiency, and strong economic performance. Identify ways to improve clinical throughput, provide provider leverage and support, and foster program growth. Ensure the mission of the organization and the practice is well served. Collaborate with peer Practice Managers within Lifespan to learn and share best practices. Effectively manage operational dynamics that drive key ambulatory and quality performance metrics. Ensure effectiveness and accuracy of billing processes and cash control management, including copay collections; respond promptly to billing companies, third‑party payers, and credentialing requests. Ensure the practice team is proficient in core technology and aligned with broader organizational standards. Develop, coordinate, and maintain effective provider and staff schedules. Supervise support staff in secretarial, clerical, and medical assistant roles; manage recruitment and selection; orient staff to responsibilities and customer service expectations; communicate policy changes. Assign work schedules and provide coverage for planned and unplanned absences; articulate performance expectations and conduct evaluations, recommending corrective action when necessary. Participate in the development and modification of policies and procedures; ensure staff adherence. Participate in developing operating budgets and capital budgets; recommend staff and equipment needs. Monitor practice effectiveness, recommend and implement approved changes. Ensure timing and appropriateness of all practice activities, including scheduling, billing, clinical documentation, referrals, verifications, and authorizations. Provide leadership to facilitate provider collaboration with referring providers. Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms for request types (e.g., check requests, billing requests) and resolve issues in a timely manner. Maintain, repair, and manage equipment; request service; maintain inventory; reconcile materials. Ensure all activities meet or exceed customer expectations; develop and enhance relationships with staff, patients, families, vendors, and others inside and outside Lifespan. Advise directors and physicians on regulatory compliance issues; implement approved compliance programs. Monitor and resolve budget variances; prepare purchase orders for supplies and services. Maintain files, including licensures, for providers and staff. Participate in or lead quality improvement and customer service teams as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, health care administration, or equivalent. At least three years of experience in the administration of a physician practice or hospital outpatient department. Ambulatory leadership experience in an academic medical center is preferred.
