Production Support Operator
Possible Temp to Hire.
Pay: #####/hr Hours: 3p - 11pm if working OT hours will be 3p - 1a.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Support the Entire Lincoln Avenue production line by working where needed to provide increased productivity and capacity where it is most needed. The function will require direct labor work along with material handling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Production Support Operator will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Assist Painters by prepping units and operating the crane.
- Assist Final Assemblers with bolted cover assembly and leak testing.
- Determine from the Order Process Sheet what parts need to be kitted for Tanking and Final Assembly. This includes assembling kits, unloading/retrieving tanks and cabinets from vans and staging areas, and sinking core/coil assemblies in tanks.
- Operate all material handling equipment such as forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Assist Welders by building covers, leak testing, retrieving tanks/radiators, and operating the crane.
- Set up coils and cores on stacking tables in Wound Core Stacking and coils in the Stacked Core area.
- Serve as a back-up to Material Attendants to help unload interplant trucks and deliver materials to the line
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs), awkward positions, and inclement weather
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Works from Order Process Sheets, Reference Specifications, Quality Control and Production standards, and various reports from the business information system. Prioritizes work and makes adjustments to maximize the utilization of other Production Operators. Works from general instructions with limited supervision. Uses material handling equipment such as walking or riding forklifts, hoists and cranes. Uses an assortment of pneumatic, hydraulic and common hand tools. The safety of self and others is considered above all other matters when using equipment. All employees are expected to:
- Follow established working procedures.
- Be responsible for his/her own work, under minimal supervision and instruction.
- Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement.
