Capstone Construction, Inc. will be a newly formed construction company affiliated with an established property management firm overseeing 800+ residential units across the Bay Area and Sacramento. We are hiring an experienced, licensed contractor to join us in building and growing this company, with a path to real ownership.

This is not a typical job. The work is already in place: maintenance, repairs, unit turnovers, and full remodels across our managed portfolio, with room to grow into outside clients. What we need is the right operator to run the jobs (including working hands-on in residential units) and help build a crew as we expand our operations, ultimately growing the business as an owner alongside us. We have an experienced business team and the tools to manage and scale the company. What we need is a partner who knows construction and can own that critical piece of the pie.

What you'll do

• Handle repairs, turnovers, and remodels across our properties - hands-on
  • These repairs include everything from minor handyman work, to full-unit remodels.
• Run day-to-day field operations: scheduling, estimating, job walks, and quality control
• Manage subcontractors and build an in-house crew over time
• Work with us on pricing, budgeting, and growth strategy
• Help take the company from launch to a self-sustaining business
• Travel regularly across our service area: East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, occasionally the South Bay, and along the I-80 corridor to Sacramento. Expect to be on the road between job sites most days. 

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on construction experience: handyman, repair, remodel, or general contracting
• California B General Contractor license, or eligible to obtain one (strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of California building codes, permits, and compliance requirements
• Experience estimating, bidding, and managing construction contracts
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and subcontractors at once
• Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable dealing directly with clients
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and your own tools
• Someone who wants to build something of their own, not just collect a paycheck
• Willing and able to travel across the Bay Area and Sacramento regularly, including some early starts and long drives 

Compensation

• Base salary: $85,000 to $115,000 per year
• Ownership equity in Capstone Construction, Inc., starting at hire and increasing over time as the company hits performance milestones
• Health benefits and paid time off
