Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health

The Registered Nurse on the Maternal Child Health unit is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients. This role involves collaboration with unit leadership to adhere to nursing guidelines set by governing bodies relevant to Maternal Child Health, including AWONN, ACOG, NNA, and AORN. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients and families with complex needs and recognize deviations in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status.
• Create care plans using a person-centered care approach while involving patients and families in establishing care goals.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to make timely clinical decisions and prioritize both anticipated and unanticipated needs.
• Demonstrate technical competence in nursing skills required for patient care.
• Remain current with policies, procedures, and standards of care within the organization.
• Serve as a resource for peers and facilitate connections between patients, families, and other health team members as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
• Post Partum experience required, with the ability to independently care for mother/baby couplets.
• Competency in various clinical assessments and care interventions.
• Knowledge of and compliance with relevant nursing guidelines and standards.

Schedule

This position follows a night shift schedule from 06:45 PM to 07:15 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
