Senior Superintendent (Mission Critical/Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent

Position Overview
The Senior Superintendent leads field operations to deliver complex construction projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role oversees on-site teams, subcontractors, quality control, and schedule coordination while maintaining strong client relationships. The Senior Superintendent drives site execution for large-scale and technically demanding projects, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and constructability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule; coordinate trade sequencing and manage critical path activities.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate site staff and subcontractors; enforce accountability and high performance standards.
• Implement and enforce site safety programs and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements.
• Coordinate logistics, materials, equipment, and site access to optimize productivity and minimize disruptions.
• Collaborate with project management, design teams, and clients to resolve constructability issues and implement solutions.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality control checks, and punch list walkthroughs; ensure deliverables meet specifications.
• Prepare and present daily/weekly field reports, progress updates, and risk assessments to project leadership.
• Manage subcontractor scopes, schedules, and performance; review and approve daily manpower and subcontractor invoices.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 812 years of progressive construction experience with at least 35 years in a superintendent or senior superintendent role.
• Proven track record as a Senior Superintendent overseeing large, complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and construction documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills with experience managing multiple trades on site.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety with relevant certifications (OSHA 30, first aid/CPR preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Experience with quality control processes and punch list management.
• Willingness to work on-site full time and travel between project locations as required.
• Nice to have: direct experience on Mission Critical facilities and Commercial Construction projects, familiarity with MEP coordination and high-security/low-tolerance environments.
