About Kaufman County Road & Bridge: Kaufman County has an opportunity for Class I with our Road & Bridge sub‑division. This position aims to perform routine maintenance in the county rights‑of‑way and provide quality ditch drainage. Employees must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including county safety standards. As an essential employee, you will assist with emergencies (i.e., flooding, ice storm, etc.). The Road and Bridge Department’s mission is to offer a responsive public service while executing high maintenance on roads, bridges, hikes, bike trails, and county rights‑of‑way to improve mobility and the quality of life for the constituents’ precinct. There are four precincts in Kaufman County. The four elected Commissioners and an elected County Judge serve as members of the Kaufman County Commissioners Court, the Administrative Head of the county’s government. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following duties represent the principal job duties; however, they are not all-inclusive.) Repair of potholes, sinkholes, and street curbs Set flags and barricades for traffic control. Safely direct traffic through work or construction sites for long periods, flaggers. Blowing and cleaning ditches and inlets Performs routine service and maintenance. Use chainsaws to cut and remove brushand debris from streets, rights of way, and alleys. Performs daily safety inspections of assigned equipment before and after use. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary for certain locations. Attends work on a continuous and regular basis. Other duties may include, but are not limited to: Operate a mower or seaweed rake to remove grass from roads and rights of way ordebris from roadways. Use shovels, rakes, and other maintenance equipment as directed. Performs other job‑related duties as directed by supervisor(s). Must adhere to Federal, State, County, and local ordinances.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
