Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Prison in Chaparral, New Mexico. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping those in our custody prepare for success upon release. Position Summary Reports to the intake sergeant. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in compliance with MTC and customer directives. Essential Functions Types reports. Proofread material to verify accuracy. Maintain appropriate office supplies. Assist the inmate sergeant with inmate records; maintain documentation and records. Operate office equipment such as copy machines, desk top computers and printers. Operate center telephone communications and mail handling as assigned. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Maintain accountability of staff, inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management. Education And Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year word processing or computer data entry experience preferred. Valid driver's license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
