Respiratory Therapist (R) - Full Time Night - Hopewell - $10,000.00 bonus

Position Overview Establishes and manages basic and complex forms of mechanical ventilation (e.g., HFO, NPPV, PRVC, transport) with high proficiency and minimal supervision. Performs weaning mechanics as ordered, with high proficiency in over 90% of ventilator patients. Develops or refines the ventilator care plan daily and communicates changes to the patient care team. Collects specimens and performs diagnostic testing (e.g., blood gas, sputum) with high proficiency and minimal supervision. Interprets diagnostic and monitoring data accurately. Integrates patient diagnostic data, response to therapy, and physiologic profile to create a sound plan‑of‑care consistent with departmental standards. Uses effective time‑management for work organization and triage. Handles shift assignments consistently without complaints or interventions. Performs thorough, advanced cardiopulmonary assessments, incorporating cardiovascular, nutritional, and neurological systems. Administers basic and advanced respiratory therapeutic interventions (e.g., heliox, nitric oxide, CNB, chest wall oscillation) with high proficiency and minimal supervision. Responds immediately to all Code Blue, RRT, Trauma, and STATS at least 90% of the time. Provides educational training to patients and/or family members as appropriate. Communicates consistently with healthcare team members regarding the patient’s care plan. Collaborates actively with peers and supervisory staff, receiving at least one validated commendation during the evaluation year. Assumes a role in training, education, orientation, and student clinical time. Applies departmental protocols and clinical practice guidelines with high precision and compliance without supervision. Applies new techniques and procedures within 30 days of training or orientation. Participates in quality improvement initiatives within the department, documenting data accurately. Minimum Requirements Associate’s Degree from an AMA‑Accredited Respiratory Therapy/Respiratory Therapist Program (Bachelor’s preferred). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Two years of clinical experience preferred. Certifications: AHA ACLS‑Advanced Cardiac Life Support, AHA BLS – Healthcare Provider, AHA NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation. Skills: critical thinking, preceptor abilities, presentation and instructional techniques. Special training in multiple age populations. Usual Work Day 12‑hour shift; duty‑hour requirements may vary. Physical Demands and Work Environment Standing, walking, occasional climbing, carrying objects, push/pull, twisting, bending, reaching forward and overhead, squatting, kneeling, crawling. Lifting: floor to waist up to 35lbs.; waist level and above up to 10lbs. Repetitive motions: keyboard use. Continuous demands: standing, walking, occasional climbing. Sensory requirements: accurate near vision, far vision, depth perception, and hearing. Exposure risks: bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, airborne communicable diseases, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations.
