Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT Peds) Hyannis, Massachusetts
The respiratory therapy role provides respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Responsibilities include initiating and providing ventilatory support, recommending and monitoring ventilator settings (including lung protective strategies), performing diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and sputum specimen collection, and attending codes and rapid response events as assigned. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT); Massachusetts state licensure in Respiratory Therapy; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); at least 0 years of experience (minimum experience requirement listed as 0).
• Preferred Qualifications: Minimum one-year critical care experience preferred.
• Additional Information: May float between two locations within the same region. Provides care for the neonatal and pediatric population, including assessment and maintenance of artificial airways, suctioning (naso-tracheal, endotracheal, and tracheostomy), assistance with tracheostomy tube changes, airway clearance interventions, aerosolized/metered dose medication delivery, and non-invasive ventilation support. Performs bedside spirometry and capnography; monitors respiratory status during transport within the facility and to other facilities as needed. Assists with conscious sedations and intubations and supports Bronchoscopy procedures across clinical areas. Documents in the electronic medical record and completes daily charge reconciliation. Precepts, trains, or orients students and respiratory staff as required; maintains equipment, supplies, and stock.
