Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Start times vary (3p–3a, 5p–5a, 7p–7a) — candidates must be flexible with shift start times. Every other weekend required; 2 of 3 holidays required during the holiday season.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 31-bed Emergency Room with a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio, working alongside paramedics, CNAs, charge nurses, and unit secretaries
• Manage a diverse patient population including MVAs, GSWs, CVA/stroke, MI/chest pain, high-risk OB, psychiatric holds, cardioversions, and conscious sedation for closed fractures; approximately 11% pediatric population
• Operate and monitor patients using GE Lifepack monitors and ventilators including Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60s
• Perform moderate conscious sedation with required competency testing
• Float between two ER locations approximately 7 miles apart, primarily on mid-shifts
• Participate in a Pass/Fail Simulation Lab on Day 1 of orientation ; complete 2–3 days of floor-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ER/Trauma experience required
• Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam must be completed within 24–48 hours prior to acceptance; maximum of 2 attempts allowed
• Must pass a Simulation Lab assessment on Day 1 of orientation (study materials provided)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with stroke and cardiac chest pain center protocols
• Familiarity with psychiatric hold management and high-volume emergency environments
• Experience working with pediatric emergency patients
• Comfort with ventilator management and conscious sedation procedures
