Senior Instrumentation Designer

Senior Instrumentation DesignerKent is looking for a Senior Instrumentation Designer to be based in La Porte, TX. You will perform routine to difficult design assignments, requiring proficiency in drafting techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry/design codes and standards.Basic Job RequirementsIndependently develops complete, quality, on time and on budget design packages covering Instrumentation, Electrical, Analyzers, Controls/Safety Systems Scopes. Prepares all related package deliverables from scratch or modifies existing material including engineering deliverables like specification sheets etc. in consultation with the primary engineering resource. Coordinates with plant resources and vendors as needed to research information, obtain quotes, prepare BOMs etc. Supports field assignments as required including field validations (walk-downs), verifying existing equipment for design or records verification. Quality assurance for personal work assignments. Checks the work of other designers and drafters as required. Prepares accurate man-hour estimates for work and for changes in design. Keeps supervisor informed of progress. Participates in client presentations and/or other meetings as needed. Assures project and company procedures are followed. Must be able to perform the functions of lower/higher classifications based on business needs.Qualification/Training/Certification: Minimum 10 years of technical work experience. High school education or equivalent required. Proficient design skills using AutoCAD, Raster Design, Acrobat DC, SPI. Extensive knowledge of design/drafting technology. Able to work independently with little or no direction. Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
