We are looking for a Service Manager to help support that mission.JOB SUMMARYThe Service Manager is directly responsible for the management and/or supervision of the Service Department as it relates to the goals of your perspective branch and Branch Manager.RESPONSIBILITIESWorking with recruitment and HR to maintain staff levels that appropriately support customer demandWorking directly with personnel to ensure proper job function performanceMaintaining continuous personnel improvement processes that include cross training and management supportWorking with other department managers to encourage cross departmental workflowMaintaining and managing inventory levels that both enhance customer service and maintain corporate goalsAssisting with policy and procedure enhancements to encourage an environment that promotes ease of businessHold weekly departmental meetings to address comments, questions and/or concerns as it relates to productivity of the departmentRegularly schedule time to spend in the market managing, maintaining and increasing customer relationshipsRegularly review the Monthly Operating Statement (M.O.S.) to measure:Departmental financial state (forecast vs. current)Areas for improvementStaffing levelsEvaluating the market to determine appropriate means for gaining market shareOther duties as assigned by Branch ManagerBENEFITSMedical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance401k with company matchPaid Time OffTraining & Professional DevelopmentPositive and productive work environmentOpportunities for professional development and career advancement within a growing company.QUALIFICATIONSComplete and maintain all factory certifications within 180 days of original date of hire.High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree and/or technical education in Automotive, Diesel or related field preferredExcellent verbal and written communicationWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAt least 2 years of experience in a heavy-duty diesel shopStrong mechanical knowledge and abilityMinimum 1 year of supervisory experienceWORK CONDITIONSPhysical Demands/Work Environment:This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
