Job Overview Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non‑Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester counties. We provide comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all patients, especially the underserved and vulnerable. We are currently seeking a Full‑Time Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at the Wyandanch, NY site. Job Description A Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for providing patient‑centered care and facilitating patient access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient manner. The staff member will manage all aspects of the registration and appointment process, communicate with a diverse population, and serve as the access point for patients in the medical care team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with daily reception activities and ensure that all processes needed for patient services are initiated. Communicate effectively with team members and patients about all aspects of service. Handle telephone and mail contact with patients. Schedule appointments, collect fees, and explain services and charges to patients. Distribute materials to patients, including patient satisfaction cards, patient rights, and other appropriate resources. Verify insurance and set fees based on the sliding‑scale fee schedule. Minimum Requirements Education: High School diploma or GED. Experience: 2-4 years in a similar role. Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).
