Journeyman ElectricianThe Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex industrial electrical systems within oil and gas facilities. This role requires working in a remote Arctic environment, ensuring all work meets the National Electrical Code (NEC) and stringent North Slope safety standards. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Understand and have a working knowledge of NFPA 70, NRTL listing, and NEMA rating, especially regarding NFPA 70 Classified Locations.Plan and execute new or modified installations to minimize material waste, ensuring cost-effective project delivery in remote locations where supply chains are limited.Assist with engineer layouts that prioritize long-term serviceability; ensuring all junction boxes, control panels, and disconnects remain easily accessible for future maintenance and emergency repairs.Proactively identify and resolve potential interference or "congested" routing issues before installation to prevent mechanical damage or electromagnetic interference (EMI) in sensitive control circuits.Install industrial electrical gear, lighting systems, grounding grids, and control apparatus including relays, contactors, breakers, and switches.Fabricate and install electrical panel stands and cable supports utilizing Unistrut, structural fasteners, and Arctic-grade mounting hardware.Assist in design and install of raceway systems, including heavy-duty cable trays, Type MC-HL cable, and conduit (GRC/IMC).Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric devices or motors, transformers, generators, and understands grounding of equipment.Tests circuits and equipment to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as multi-meter, amp clamp, megger, rotation meter, turns ratio meter, and hi-pot.Safely troubleshoot electrical problems related to power distribution, motors, and transformers.Execute safe wire and cable pulls for MC-HL, TC-ER cable, and conduit, ensuring zero damage to insulation or shielding during the process.Terminate wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment, generators, instruments, and PLC's.Communicate daily status of current projects to the Lead Electrician to ensure all projects are timely, all materials for projects are on schedule for the on-time delivery date for the execution of said projects and within company standards.Understand and have a working knowledge of NFPA 70E and the industry standard for electrical safe work practices.Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by CCI while on shift, on call or attending meetings.Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.Maintain 100% "Safety Standards and Accountability" in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:Compliance with HSE Training required.Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.Participating in safety meetings, work safely, and maintain a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA/JHA reviews, pre-job walk downs and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.Promote and participate in Behavior Based Safety as well as programs that promote continuous improvements (CI).Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be deemed unsafeAttend and participate in required meetings, training, exercises and drills.Facilitating or participating in CCI safety meetings, work safely and maintain a safe work environment.Willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to safetyReport all incidents immediately to immediate supervisor and HSE SpecialistDocument and record any injury or near-miss incident that may occur.Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Skilled in performing precision electrical work while wearing heavy cold-weather PPE and operating in sub-zero temperatures.Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace).Ability to interpret 1-line drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), schematics, and wiring diagrams.Ability to work well with others in an environment that includes harsh weather conditions, remote locations.Ability to clearly speak, write, read and understand the English language.Skilled in interpersonal communication.Contribute to a positive work environment and be willing to participate in the solution processWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
