The work hours for this position are Mon - Fri + Weekends, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.

The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Site Operations Manager to ensure all facility related equipment is maintained to the highest standards in the Hard Services line. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will partner with the Site Operations Supervisor to ensure collective success across all service lines (hard, soft, and operational) and embody the OneISS (one team) methodology of facility operations.

Core functions of this role involve solving non-complex (single system) maintenance and repair of a building's shell, core, and equipment. The purpose of this role is to maintain facilities for clients, customers, and staff in a safe operating condition; execute a best practice preventative and reactive maintenance program; and resolve immediate operational and/or building safety concerns. Ultimate success in this role is around providing safe and reliable building systems that proactively and reactively support our client's business needs. The Maintenance Technician will at times be on shift alone and will be a point of contact for the client and must be able to respond to escalations and communicate in a professional manner at all times.

Success criteria include the ability to work within tight timelines, participate and embrace development opportunities, and the ability to troubleshoot down to component level.

Key areas of collaboration and influence involve communicating effectively with colleagues on the accounts and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participating in project groups and meetings as required. Additionally, it involves transferring best practices established by ISS and bringing them to the account, and using the account successes to promote and further develop ISS.

Ideal candidate experience includes a high school diploma or vocational or trade school/college, basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills, communication skills to translate basic technical information, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to work in noisy environments with required PPE, a valid state driver's license, professional and customer service aptitude, and basic computer proficiency skills.

Key accountabilities include self-performance of primary preventative and reactive maintenance work orders, patching/painting of walls, door/lock hardware repairs and installation, installation and mounting of building fixtures, minor plumbing repairs, safety eyewash/shower inspections and maintenance, fire extinguisher inspections, overhead lighting bulb replacement, roof inspections, light snow removal and walkway salting, building safety inspections, kitchen equipment inspections, café equipment specialty cleaning, shopping tool repairs, HVAC system and water system filter replacements, hot/cold calls, proactively mitigating slip, trip, fall hazards, effective LOTO compliance, ensuring all health and safety requirements are established and followed, use of CMMS system software for work order management, following 5S principles for organization/cleanliness, ordering supplies for PM's and RM's, completing detailed records of all work, conducting frequent equipment rounds and readings, escorting and directing site vendors, being on call to address escalations or emergencies, and handling customer complaints professionally.

Physical demands and work environment include prolonged periods walking or standing, lifting, carrying, and placing up to 50 pounds at a time, working days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed, bending or stooping frequently, working at heights on mobile or stationary work platforms, and operating powered industrial trucks.
