Direct Support ProfessionalDirect Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the individuals they support. DSPs are supportive & compassionate individuals who are trained to care for & encourage adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities as well as individuals that are on the autism spectrum. Responsibilities include: adhering to the individual service plans and supporting their everyday lives. DSPs promote & support positive relationships within ALWAYS A STEP ABOVE Inc., all stakeholders and affiliated partners.Essential Functions:Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living activities, meeting their concerns, & ensuring their safety.Follow individuals' support plans, including developing meaningful relationships in accordance with the Everyday Lives philosophy.Administer medications according to guidelines.Aid in implementing treatments, training programs, and development of behavior plans.Encourage community participation.Document all observations & daily progress notes in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with all team members in a timely manner.Accompany individuals to community outings.Providing premier personal care.Act as a positive role model.Meet all training requirements.Promote the mission, vision and values of ALWAYS A STEP ABOVE.Perform any additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisor.ALWAYS go A STEP ABOVE the industry standards.* ALWAYS A STEP ABOVE Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
