Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Lead Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to help lead our testing operations. This pivotal role involves running advanced geotechnical test methods, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing complex testing programs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in geotechnical laboratory testing procedures, and laboratory management, combined with a passion for quality and innovation in geotechnical testing. Duties Perform geotechnical testing procedures, including Consolidation, Triaxial Shear Strength, Permeability and other advanced geotechnical tests Lead daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to established protocols and test methods Guide laboratory staff, providing training, mentorship, and assist in managing daily workflow to foster a high-performing team Coordinate with managers to schedule testing activities and deliver timely results. Maintain compliance with industry regulations such as AASHTO, ASTM, and USACE. Ensure proper documentation of test results, data collection, and reporting in accordance with quality assurance protocols Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize laboratory processes and techniques Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred Proven experience performing geotechnical testing Strong knowledge of geotechnical laboratory techniques including soil testing methods and soils analysis skills Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and CMEC is highly desirable Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data tracking and reporting Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Strong understanding of laboratory procedures related to analysis skills, production laboratory experience, and data collection methods Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and general computing tasks.
