Maintenance Mechanic - Chicago, Illinois

Responsibilities Perform all work in a safe manner following company policies and OSHA regulations. Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance procedures. Troubleshoot machinery and determine and implement corrective actions. Order parts as needed in accordance with company policy. Remove, modify and replace machine components as needed. Perform welding (ARC, MIG) and torch cutting. Apply knowledge of metal fabrication, pipe fittings and other metalworking processes. Operate all machines and learn to use them efficiently. Apply electrical knowledge to solve assignments and program PLC's and drives; change outputs/inputs, modify programs and use laptop to troubleshoot equipment. Work with or without schematics. Train new maintenance mechanics. Work with hydraulics and pneumatics. Work day or afternoon shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed with short notice. Work with little supervision. Operate machines occasionally (other duties). Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 3–5 years of work experience in a similar environment. Ability to perform the duties described above.
