Mammography Technologist

Overview The role involves performing mammography procedures in accordance with standards, policies, and organizational values. Responsibilities Reviewing patient history, scheduling, and educating patients about procedures and equipment. Preparing and administering contrast media or medications within scope of practice. Assisting physicians with interventional procedures such as fine needle aspiration and localization. Preparing equipment, selecting imaging parameters, implementing safety standards, and performing quality control. Positioning patients, capturing images, analyzing results, and troubleshooting image quality issues. Working independently with critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. Registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certification in Mammography (M) by ARRT, or ARRT-R plus State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months. BLS certification prior to start date, valid through sixty days of employment. Strong communication, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently are essential.
