Carpenter

Performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of wooden structures and related fixtures.

Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.

Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, dimensions of structure or fixture, and recommendations for fabrication and installation.

Selects specified type of lumber or other materials.

Prepares layouts, measures, cuts, or shapes wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall using saws, chisels, and planes.

Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, screws, or glue.

Installs structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trims, and hardware, using carpenters' hand and power tools.

Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.

May perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Carpenter in a commercial or industrial setting.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.

Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and equipment.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to carpentry tasks.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and stoop for extended periods.

Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
