Job Summary Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is a construction/engineering company located in Katy, TX. We are hiring a Laborer for a project in Baytown, TX. Work Site Baytown, TX. The jobsite will involve construction activities in natural gas and petrochemical settings. Responsibilities General housekeeping Shoveling dirt, compacting dirt, breaking or chipping concrete Removing concrete forms Assist craft workers by carrying tools and moving materials to work areas Use jack hammers, dirt compactors, dirt shovels, chipping guns/hammers, framing hammers, and crow bars Other duties as required Expectations Actively participate in a strong safety culture Recognize safety hazards and risks Participate in onsite safety meetings Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures Be aware of changing conditions on the jobsite Be on time each day ready for work Display a positive attitude and work in a team environment Physical Demands Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations. Lifting and carrying objects up to 60 lb. Standing for extended periods up to 11 hours per day; breaks given in 2.5 hour intervals. Moving the entire body; use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, bending regularly. Work on elevated platforms, maintain balance on narrow platforms, wearing full‑body harness and lanyard. Good hand‑eye coordination. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools. Additional Requirements Travel is required with extended periods away from home in remote areas. Willing and able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week. Willing and able to work in extreme weather. Willing and able to work on scaffolds and at high elevations. Willing and able to meet all basic physical requirements. Willing and able to attend mandatory safety meetings. Preferred Qualifications Previous construction experience. Basic knowledge of tools and crafts.
