FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions at Manning Family Children, 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118. Online applications only. Requirements: Prior food service experience preferred; willing to train. Pay Range: $13.00–$15.00 per hour. Job Summary Performs cashiering duties and general food service work, maintaining sanitation standards in the preparation, service, and dining room facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas per wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to the supervisor. Perform sales transactions and enter sales into the cash register accurately. Give change, accept declining balance cards and other payment forms. Issue receipts to customers. Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds. Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned.
