Bring your expertise in physical therapy to a rewarding contract assignment supporting special education students in a dynamic school setting. Step into a short-term opportunity to provide essential physical therapy services for a diverse caseload, focusing on both mixed grade levels and a higher proportion of students in the Transition program (ages 20–22). This full-time, onsite position runs from August 17 to November 4 and is ideal for talented professionals with pediatric and school-based experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Physical Therapist license (mandatory)
- Experience providing physical therapy services in a school environment
- Strong background in pediatric and adolescent populations
- Ability to work effectively with Transition-aged students (20–22 years old)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver educationally focused physical therapy interventions to special education students, tailored to IEP goals
- Address challenges related to gross motor skills acquisition and compensation strategies
- Evaluate students’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school standards
