Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Med/Surg Nurses!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-hour days, 0645 - 1915
- Schedule: Weekends as scheduled; extra shifts may be available
- Unit Type: Med/Surg with 32 beds (currently operating at 20 due to staffing)
- Patient Ratios: No more than 5 patients per nurse
- Qualifications:
- Must have a strong Med/Surg background
- Experience with EPIC and travel nursing is required
- Certifications:
- BLS and NIHSS required for all RNs and LPNs
- ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
- Common Diagnoses:
- CHF, Pneumonia, Abdominal Pain, Pancreatitis, Ortho, Detox
- Post-operative patients (except laboring mothers and titrating cardiac/insulin drips)
- Equipment:
- CPAP, BiPAP available at all hours
- RT will assist and manage high flow needs
- Nursing Support:
- Nurse Aide ratios: 3 per shift
- House Supervisor to make nurse and aide assignments
- Nurses are not required to read their own strips; ICU monitors handle this
- Orientation:
- Comprehensive unit-specific training (3-5 days)
- Familiarization with policies, education, pharmacy, and lab training
- Floating Requirements:
- Floating to assist other units as needed
- Dress Code:
- Any scrub color permitted except for camo or orange
