Reno Staffing is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager for a construction management company in the Reno, NV area!

Position Type: Direct hire opportunity; employment terms to be confirmed.

Shift: Day shift; office-based and/or project-site responsibilities
Pay: $80,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
Location: Reno, NV area, with travel to assigned project sites throughout Nevada

Summary

The Construction Project Manager will oversee the financial, contractual, administrative, and operational aspects of assigned construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

This individual will manage project budgets, subcontractor procurement, estimates, schedules, change orders, and client communications while coordinating closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers.

The ideal candidate is organized, financially knowledgeable, technically capable, and comfortable managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who takes ownership of project outcomes and can balance cost, schedule, quality, and client expectations.

This Construction company  primarily coordinates construction work through independent subcontractors, making subcontractor management, contract administration, and project cost control especially important.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, project scopes, and contract requirements.
• Prepare estimates, quantity takeoffs, project budgets, and cost proposals.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and compare pricing, exclusions, and scope coverage.
• Negotiate subcontractor pricing, scopes of work, agreements, and change orders within delegated authority.
• Establish and maintain project budgets, cost codes, commitments, and financial records.
• Monitor project costs, budget variances, projected completion costs, and profitability.
• Review subcontractor progress billings and prepare owner payment applications.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports and budget updates.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, milestones, procurement schedules, and critical path activities.
• Coordinate with Superintendents to monitor field progress, address delays, and implement recovery plans.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and design coordination with architects and engineers.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and potential cost or schedule impacts.
• Lead project meetings and maintain professional relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Supervise and support assigned Project Engineers and Superintendents.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, change order logs, correspondence, and contractual records.
• Coordinate punch lists, final billing, warranties, closeout documentation, and owner turnover.

Competency

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Approximately 5–10 years of progressive construction management experience preferred.
• Prior direct employment with a General Contractor (GC) is required.
• Experience managing commercial or residential construction projects, preferably ground-up commercial construction.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, project budgets, schedules, contracts, and change orders.
• Strong understanding of estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bidding, procurement, and buyout.
• Experience with job costing, cost-to-complete forecasting, budget variance analysis, and project financial reporting.
• Understanding of construction scheduling, critical path activities, and schedule recovery.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Experience supervising or mentoring Project Engineers and coordinating with Superintendents.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook is expected.
• Ability to use Excel for estimates, bid comparisons, cost tracking, financial reports, and project analysis.
• Familiarity with new construction technology and AI tools is a plus.
• Construction Management, Engineering, or related education is preferred; equivalent relevant GC experience will be considered.
• Willingness to travel to assigned project sites throughout Nevada.

Additional information: This is a project management role that combines financial oversight, subcontractor administration, scheduling, and coordination with field teams. Candidates should be comfortable managing both the administrative and commercial sides of construction projects.
