Appraisal Clerk/Sp Ed
Under the direct supervision of the campus-based evaluation staff and the speech language pathologist, the clerk will provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus special education department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Proficiency in typing and word processing
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and in a positive manner
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings
- Bilingual preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in office management duties.
- Assist in maintaining an efficient and positive work environment.
- Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in maintaining federal, state and local regulations and timelines by monitoring reports generated from district software system.
- ARD Meeting responsibilities:
- Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs and staff meetings
- Schedule ARD meetings for campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist
- Assist in preparing materials for all ARD meetings
- Work collaboratively with campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist to ensure the required/necessary participants are invited to ARD meetings
- Scan, upload and mail ARD documents to teachers and parents
- Maintain records, files, and other required documents on special education students
- File and maintain documents in the audit folder and special education software system immediately after the ARD is completed and activated
- Assist speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials as needed
- Communicate to district office any requests for records
- Interpret ARDs and phone calls, as necessary
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform other duties as determined by the campus-based evaluation staff, speech pathologist or principal.
