Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic team. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional care to patients during critical moments in their lives.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, including monitoring vital signs and fetal heart rate.
• Circulate during OB-GYN surgeries and participate in pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Attend all deliveries and assist with high-risk deliveries as needed.
• Administer blood products and medications, utilizing various pumps and equipment.
• Participate in team activities and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Information

This position is scheduled for night shifts, requiring a commitment to 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Open to first-time travelers with the necessary experience.
• Epic experience is required.
• Certifications required: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate. ACLS certification is preferred.

Patient Care Focus

The nursing role will involve caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including:

• Labor and preterm labor management.

Equipment and Procedures

• Utilization of specialized equipment including epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and wound vacs.
• Administering medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
• Assist with procedures like cardioversion and defibrillation.

Staffing Ratio

The staffing ratio is 1:1 to 1:3, ensuring personalized attention to patients throughout their labor and delivery experience.
