Minimum Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY :

This position reports to the Support Services Division, Police Services Coordinator. Assist the Police Department with daily activities, including transporting vehicles for repair, delivery of department mail, and delivery and pick up of supplies. Able to function with little or no daily supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Deliver vehicles for repair and preventative maintenance.
• Deliver department mail and pick up checks.
• Pick up supplies at stores and estimates on damaged vehicles.
• Assist in equipment inspection and vehicle inventory.
• On a daily basis, must be able to stand 10 minutes, walk 20 minutes, and sit 1 hour.
• Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs., climb stairs, and reach for supplies.
• Must be able to communicate with the public, employees, and management in person and using a radio or telephone.
• Other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Handle general tasks as assigned by supervision.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES :

Knowledge of: Operation of vehicles utilized at the Tyler Police Department.Must have a valid Texas Class C driver's license.

Environmental Factors

The employee will be working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year and will be subjected to all types of weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Some office work will be required, involving sitting. Other tasks will demand extensive walking and standing, along with physical abilities that enable the individual to walk, lift, push, or pull heavy items objects, climb stairs or ladders, hear and speak such that verbal communication can occur without visual contact, eyesight to see to operate equipment and judge distances accurately, exhibit manual dexterity for griping, holding, using tools or equipment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

High school diploma or GED required. This position allows twenty (20) hours maximum per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00AM to 11:00AM. Times can be flexible during those days and between the listed hours with supervisory discretion. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License with a clear driving record.
